D is for... Delayed Gratification

Yep, it's day 4 of the A - Z challenge and I'm already in tears over it. After my software mishap the other day I had this other idea for a cover which would involve a 3d animated character for the boy. I spent all night last night trying to render the little bugger and didn't get anything else done. So I've got a little boy, not a concept.

It makes me wonder if I understand the point of 'concept.' Apparently I do not.

Anyhow, click to read all about other people and their journeys this month.

Dude... I have a shadow!

The actual 'concept' will have to wait until tomorrow... oh the drama.

  1. Nice shadow work! That's good for a night's work. Concept will come later.

  2. Oooh I love the idea of a 3-d cover. I don't think I've seen that before.

  3. Hey, what you have is still damn impressive. I'd be using stick figures. Poorly drawn stick figures.

  4. It sucks when things don't work out the same way in life as they do in your head. It's why I'm not rich.

Dropping in from A to Z. This is my first year. I love it.

  5. His hair and hands look really great. That's always the hardest part for me.

  8. That's pretty cool, though. I like that there are two shadows. Maybe one could be doing something the boy's not.

  9. Wait, so why does he have 2 shadows?

  10. He would have a couple of shadows because of multiple light sources.

  11. That's a very good rendering. Your Adobe Suite Kung Fu is quite admirable sir. I'd like to see what you can do with After Effects.

  12. I'm sorry this challenge has made you cry already :( For what it's worth, I think your boy looks pretty awesome.
