X is for Xtra Late

Right here at the very end, I'm losing my ability to keep up... is this the end of the month? I don't understand, I have letters left. I'll try to post so quickies until I get to Z.

Oh, and this is the A-Z Bogging challenge. You know, caption the sketch below, make it funny, and use the letter X in there somewhere... anywhere... if you want to.

Recall that our Hairy Warrior is facing down a horde of villainous types as they charge towards him in an apocalyptical type showdown.

"Harry and the Henderson's? Yes, I've heard of it, why do you ask?"

W is for Wesley's Revenge

It's W for me in the A-Z Blogging Challenge. The goal this month is for you, dear reader, to caption my sketch below. Make it funny. Use a W prominently if you want, at this point, I just want funny and don't care much for anything else.

The hairy warrior, alone and on the hill, finds the demons of his past have come back to collect on his past deeds.

"I think the guy you're all looking for is just over the hill... keep running, he's bound to turn up!"

V is for Vulgar Antagonism.

Is it V day? I really have no idea, I know it's not for other people, but I didn't look before I started writing this to see what yesterday was. So, I think it's V.

And as part of this A-Z Challenge, I'm asking you to caption the sketch below. Make it funny, and use a noun beginning with the letter V, if you want to unlock the bonus content (which is much like the normal content, except that it gets called bonus).

For context, this month the hairy warrior has run across a real motley crew of folks he's punched out, now, thanks to the time-manipulator, he's on top of a mountain and faced with them all!!

"Hello, my name is Victor Montoya... you cut off my pet's horn, prepare do die."

U is for The Unconventional Warrior

It's day U for me in the A- Z Blogging Challenge. I am barely treading water with this thing right now. Oh well, it's the home stretch. I'll get there.

I'd actually sketched TWO images for today's post, but the first was so bad I scrapped it and started over. That doesn't happen to me too often. I tend to be relatively consistent in my artsy things, nothing amazing usually comes from it, but nothing so bad I just have to chuck it as too flawed to continue. But it happened this time.

So, today it appears the hairy warrior, weaponless and tired from being whisked through time by the thingy he found a week so ago, has stumbled onto an unconventional warrior. What's going to happen next???

Anyway, remember that I need this CAPTIONED!! Give me something good here. Funny is best, and a noun starting with a U is best, although, if it ends up being an adjective or adverb, that's cool too.

"See?" The Unconventional Warrior screamed into the night, "I can still fit nicely into my old gym pants."

S is for Sooo High Up!

It's A-Z day 'S' for me. Sigh. I'm going to have to catch up soon. Anyway, the goal is to caption the sketch below with something funny.

The story so far: The Hairy Warrior smashed a lizard beast over the head with his newfound time-manipulator and found himself in a new place.

Use a noun starting with the letter 'S' for a new level of respect, although not a much higher one, because who can't think of a word that starts with an S?

"Can you see me?"

R is for Righteous Punching

It's A-Z Challenge Day 'R' and it's a caption party.

That's right, all month a sketch goes up, usually involving the hairy warrior, and lately, he's been in a pickle thanks to the time manipulator.

So, caption the image below. Funny counts more than anything, but using a noun starting with an R just shows you're playing in the big leagues.

"My cause is just, your ugliness just proves how evil you are."

Q is for Qill It!!!

It's A-Z Challenge... Day number Q for me. Another letter for most others.

There is a sketch below. I'm asking you to caption it, and to make it funny. Use a noun starting with the letter Q for bonus points... well, actually, using any word with the letter Q is worthy of credit today.

To recap our adventure. The hairy warrior spotted something in the trees looking at him while he fiddled with his time manipulator.

"Ahhh! It's a bug. Squish it!"

P is for Peat Bog

It's day P in my A-Z Blogging challenge... still behind, but I'm trying.

The Hairy Warrior is still playing the time manipulator he found, and is stranded in a bog at some indeterminate time in the long history of earth.

So please caption the sketch below, and make it funny. Using a noun with the letter 'P' will certainly give you some street cred.

"This reminds me of that time my mother told me that I'd grow back-boobs if I didn't stop doing pull-ups. I miss her."

O is for Oh No!

It's A-Z Day 'O' for me. Something different for the rest of the world.

I had a late start last night on the sketch. I was going to do a giant dragon... I mean, I was going to have all this detail in it, it was going to be awesome.

Instead, I ended up with this chicken monster. So, whatever.

Don't forget, you should caption the photo... and make it funny? For context, our Hairy Warrior has been hopping through time and ended up meeting the thing pictured below. Have fun.

"Poor Monster," the hairy warrior said, "I bet he bites his tongue every time it chews."

L is for Labor Saving Device

It's L for me in this glorious A-Z Blogging Challenge. I think I'm only behind a day. But I honestly have no idea. Still, I'm pretty sure, so I guess I do have some idea after all. But I did have to think about it for a moment first.

So, our Hairy Warrior has left the towered city that has no stairs and made off with the horn of the chiuahabeast, as he leave the city, he stumbles onto something strange.

It's up to YOU to caption the image. Using a noun that begins with the letter L would be super. I can't say it will help assure your place in the next life, but I can at least say that I hope it won't make things worse for you. You know, if you're worried about how captioning might affect things.

"It ain't toilet paper, but I guess it will do."

J is for Journeyman

A-Z Day 'J' has come and gone, but that's what day it is for me. Because I'm not up to speed.

And my hairy warrior, now a confirmed tourist of the fantasy land of... whatever, has just left the chiuahabeast with a mighty gift.

Remember everyone. Caption the pic! Use a noun with the letter 'J' for extra credit. And make it funny.
"Oy, my rippling muscles finally won me the horn of Jarden, the legendary chichuabeast of legend."

I is for I am IMAZING

It's day L today, or K... D?

Whatever, I'm on I. So, in this A-Z post, I ask you to caption the sketch below using a noun that begins with the letter 'I' if you can.

If not, that's okay too.

Recall that yesterday the hairy warrior stumbled upon a horned beast while searching for his quest thing, I guess. Again, no one has captioned me a plot, except for Briane's tourist thing, which was a sweet idea.

But, please help us move this story along... and be funny.

"Hey big fella, any chance those horns of yours are made of ivory?"

H is for Holy Hell!

Last night's sketch is one of my favorites. Why? While I recognize some of the technical failures, what I did that I've never really done before is sketch this in the dark. IN THE DARK!

Not pitch black, mind you, but it was seriously, very dark. I had babysitting duty and the niece fell asleep watching a movie. I sketched by the flickering light of the television screen. I would hold it up, so I could see my work, then put it down to sketch, then pull it back up to look at again a few minutes later. I was really impressed with my final result.

So, yay me

Anyway, it is day... um, I forget, in the A-Z Challenge. I'm up to H now. I don't know where I'm supposed to be.

Don't forget, this is a caption contest. I need your caption. Make it funny first and foremost, and make it contain a noun with the letter 'G' for extra points.

There is a scoring system. Honest.

And finally, the sketch. After scaling the buildings yesterday, the Hairy Warrior made it to the walking bridges only to meet something... with a horn!!!

"Have I been wearing a kilt since he beginning? Yes, yes I have."

G is for Going Up?

It's A-Z day number 'H.' Which means I'm putting my 'G' post up. Of course it does, if I'm not behind, that means I'm not trying... or something.

So, what got sketched last night at dinner? Well, the hairy warrior found a way down from the precipice he was stuck on yesterday and to those strange buildings down below.

Remember, it's up to YOU to caption the image (and use a noun with the letter 'G' for bonus points), or else we won't have anywhere for this sorta story to go.
Great. If there is one thing I hate about living in a medieval fantasy, it's that there aren't elevators."

Z is for Z

Last day of the A-Z blogging challenge. I'm pretty tuckered out. Don't expect much from me over the course of the next couple of days.

Still have a bit of time to check out the scores for others that participated by clicking.... here.

It was a blast.

But, in an ode to what my original theme was supposed to be about, the letters themselves (I'm so glad I didn't do that) I never got so far as researching the letter Z, but I'm sure it was fascinating.

It's over people. All over.

Y is for Yesterday

As in "I should have posted this yesterday, but I didn't."

Still, we're 25 days into the A-Z blogging challenge... only one day left. Be sure to visit the other 1700 plus before the month is over... here.

I didn't post yesterday because my house guests for the past 7 months or so moved and it was a cause for both help and celebration. I celebrated a lot. And my posting plans went wonky.

But, I pulled myself together late today. So, here's a glimpse into my sunny mood.

X is for Xenophobe

It's A-Z Blogging Challenge day number...24. Wow. Read where others are at here.

Things are starting to wind down just a bit. I kind of feel like that kid at summer camp, complaining about everything the whole time and then breaking down into tears at the end. This has consumed my life for the past month. I'll enjoy the rest after, but I'll miss everyone.

Anyhow. Today's sketch, if we want to call it that, is a scene from a short story I wrote and posted... here. But I've also put a tab up called, Elvis, Leia, and Greedo Walk Into a Bar so you can come back and read it at your leisure if you're in too big a hurry now. It's around 1500 words so I figure it'll be a good 6 - 10 minutes of your time to read. A tad too long for a post here, but not real long.

The story is also my entry to Briane Pagel's most recent challenge in his 100 days of Star Wars Blogathon.

The picture, however, was drawn specifically to illustrate a moment in the story. It took me surprisingly long to do this one...2 hours maybe. I'm not sure why. It seems like I could have done that quicker.

W is for Wish

It's Day W in the A-Z Blogging Challenge. Visit others here.

My brilliant plans went off the rails when I decided I was just too tired to do a sketch today. So I asked my wife to sketch something for me. My darling dear drew me what she referred to as a wish.

So, W is for Wish. Compliments of my wife.

I don't get it. But I love it.

V is for Villains!

It's V-day in the A-Z Blogging challenge. Visit others... here.

Villains are the things that make our heroes great. I messed around and got a later than usual start on the sketch for the day... although I'm starting to have a tougher time calling these sketches as the month goes on. I might be doing sculptures by the time I get to the end.

Anyway, I spent longer than I wanted to on this guy, and he didn't quite turn out the way I wanted, but, I suppose he looks villainous.

Grrr! I'm totally evil... and a little bit sexy

U is for Universal Translator

It's Day U in the A-Z blogging challenge. Read about it here.

I'm tired of drawing people, how about some high tech trinkets? One of the staples of science fiction has long been the universal translator, or babelfish, as Douglas Adams would call it.

Seems easy enough I suppose, but it's usually a hidden technology in Star Trek, so I took it upon myself to figure out what a prototype would look like.

Also, it makes a great egg timer!
Believe it or not, this took me almost an hour to do. Might have been the longest amount of time I've spent doing any single thing this month. I meant for it to be quick.
