2) This movie makes no sense.
Well, that's about it. Thanks for reading. Actually, I do think it makes some sense, but not enough of it. I did read this article/blog post the other day about how at one point in an earlier draft of the script, Jesus was an emissary from the aliens and his crucifixion somehow psychically made the alien monsters from the Alien movies... or something. It's fair to say that there was some really weird religious motifs throughout the movie as it was presented. I recommend everyone that's seen the movie and has thought about its bizarreness read it.

I posted my review the Monday after seeing it (which I've since amended my opinion and like the movie less now) and last Friday I posted a video that asks those questions about the movie that you just HAVE to watch! It's hilarious.
I would have maybe watched this last weekend but then I got a cold so I didn't bother. I'll probably just wait until DVD.
You crack me up. I keep hoping I'll get to go this week since I'm vacationing. Maybe tonight...
Now I want to see it. And I sort of don't. Maybe I'll wait for the DVD.

I loved the movie. I'm gonna go see it again this weekend to see if I can catch things that I missed.
I've never seen something that was both awesome and didn't make sense. Maybe, that's a problem with me? I'm gonna end waiting for dvd on this one. Not because I want to, necessarily, but there is a lack of funds and time, right now.

You're so right. It was so awesome and it didn't make a whole lot of sense. Despite that, I really liked it.
Across all the blog posts I've read about the movie, that seems to be the majority opinion. Makes me want to watch it to find out why, precisely.
I was a little disappointed with it actually. I thought it was visually stunning, but I expected a little more from the plot, considering how much I love Alien and Aliens. But the very last scene - epic.
I liked it too and that was surprising to me. I didn't expect to. I caught the religious stuff in there but I am hoping that the Christ thing is subliminal and won't ever be a major factor in future movies. There were also a lot of sexual undertones- I nearly gagged when the thing went down his throat.
