Y is for Yo, Check This Out

A-Z stuff. Trying to get done. Caption if you wish
"Keep your eyes up top, buddy."

X is for Xtra Late

Right here at the very end, I'm losing my ability to keep up... is this the end of the month? I don't understand, I have letters left. I'll try to post so quickies until I get to Z.

Oh, and this is the A-Z Bogging challenge. You know, caption the sketch below, make it funny, and use the letter X in there somewhere... anywhere... if you want to.

Recall that our Hairy Warrior is facing down a horde of villainous types as they charge towards him in an apocalyptical type showdown.

"Harry and the Henderson's? Yes, I've heard of it, why do you ask?"

W is for Wesley's Revenge

It's W for me in the A-Z Blogging Challenge. The goal this month is for you, dear reader, to caption my sketch below. Make it funny. Use a W prominently if you want, at this point, I just want funny and don't care much for anything else.

The hairy warrior, alone and on the hill, finds the demons of his past have come back to collect on his past deeds.

"I think the guy you're all looking for is just over the hill... keep running, he's bound to turn up!"

V is for Vulgar Antagonism.

Is it V day? I really have no idea, I know it's not for other people, but I didn't look before I started writing this to see what yesterday was. So, I think it's V.

And as part of this A-Z Challenge, I'm asking you to caption the sketch below. Make it funny, and use a noun beginning with the letter V, if you want to unlock the bonus content (which is much like the normal content, except that it gets called bonus).

For context, this month the hairy warrior has run across a real motley crew of folks he's punched out, now, thanks to the time-manipulator, he's on top of a mountain and faced with them all!!

"Hello, my name is Victor Montoya... you cut off my pet's horn, prepare do die."

U is for The Unconventional Warrior

It's day U for me in the A- Z Blogging Challenge. I am barely treading water with this thing right now. Oh well, it's the home stretch. I'll get there.

I'd actually sketched TWO images for today's post, but the first was so bad I scrapped it and started over. That doesn't happen to me too often. I tend to be relatively consistent in my artsy things, nothing amazing usually comes from it, but nothing so bad I just have to chuck it as too flawed to continue. But it happened this time.

So, today it appears the hairy warrior, weaponless and tired from being whisked through time by the thingy he found a week so ago, has stumbled onto an unconventional warrior. What's going to happen next???

Anyway, remember that I need this CAPTIONED!! Give me something good here. Funny is best, and a noun starting with a U is best, although, if it ends up being an adjective or adverb, that's cool too.

"See?" The Unconventional Warrior screamed into the night, "I can still fit nicely into my old gym pants."

T is for The Unfinished Man

Get it? T was used in 'The' which isn't how it should be done.

But on T day of the A-Z challenge I ran out of time. But I have the start of the hairy warrior who has been weapon-less since he met the time manipulator. So, just imagine he climbed the mountain yesterday.

Caption this: make it funny.
"Check out my Bi's"

S is for Sooo High Up!

It's A-Z day 'S' for me. Sigh. I'm going to have to catch up soon. Anyway, the goal is to caption the sketch below with something funny.

The story so far: The Hairy Warrior smashed a lizard beast over the head with his newfound time-manipulator and found himself in a new place.

Use a noun starting with the letter 'S' for a new level of respect, although not a much higher one, because who can't think of a word that starts with an S?

"Can you see me?"

R is for Righteous Punching

It's A-Z Challenge Day 'R' and it's a caption party.

That's right, all month a sketch goes up, usually involving the hairy warrior, and lately, he's been in a pickle thanks to the time manipulator.

So, caption the image below. Funny counts more than anything, but using a noun starting with an R just shows you're playing in the big leagues.

"My cause is just, your ugliness just proves how evil you are."

Q is for Qill It!!!

It's A-Z Challenge... Day number Q for me. Another letter for most others.

There is a sketch below. I'm asking you to caption it, and to make it funny. Use a noun starting with the letter Q for bonus points... well, actually, using any word with the letter Q is worthy of credit today.

To recap our adventure. The hairy warrior spotted something in the trees looking at him while he fiddled with his time manipulator.

"Ahhh! It's a bug. Squish it!"

P is for Peat Bog

It's day P in my A-Z Blogging challenge... still behind, but I'm trying.

The Hairy Warrior is still playing the time manipulator he found, and is stranded in a bog at some indeterminate time in the long history of earth.

So please caption the sketch below, and make it funny. Using a noun with the letter 'P' will certainly give you some street cred.

"This reminds me of that time my mother told me that I'd grow back-boobs if I didn't stop doing pull-ups. I miss her."

O is for Oh No!

It's A-Z Day 'O' for me. Something different for the rest of the world.

I had a late start last night on the sketch. I was going to do a giant dragon... I mean, I was going to have all this detail in it, it was going to be awesome.

Instead, I ended up with this chicken monster. So, whatever.

Don't forget, you should caption the photo... and make it funny? For context, our Hairy Warrior has been hopping through time and ended up meeting the thing pictured below. Have fun.

"Poor Monster," the hairy warrior said, "I bet he bites his tongue every time it chews."

N is for Noooo!

A-Z Blogging challenge... Day N.

The Hairy Warrior, not being able to read, pushed the button on the time manipulator device and ended up standing in a swamp.

It's up to you to caption the sketch. Remember, make it funny. And please use a noun with the letter 'N' for a whole heaping of respect from me.

"Dammit... the cell phone sucks."

M is for Manipulator of Time

Sigh... Running late.

It's M day for me in the A-Z Blogging Challenge. YOU are summoned to caption the sketch below, and to use a noun beginning with the letter M for a pat on the back.

If you'll recall, the Hairy Warrior found something lying in the grass while performing his, um, necessaries.

Now it's up to you to decide what he does with the thing he found.
"Mother always said I was destined for something great. Maybe this will shut her up."

L is for Labor Saving Device

It's L for me in this glorious A-Z Blogging Challenge. I think I'm only behind a day. But I honestly have no idea. Still, I'm pretty sure, so I guess I do have some idea after all. But I did have to think about it for a moment first.

So, our Hairy Warrior has left the towered city that has no stairs and made off with the horn of the chiuahabeast, as he leave the city, he stumbles onto something strange.

It's up to YOU to caption the image. Using a noun that begins with the letter L would be super. I can't say it will help assure your place in the next life, but I can at least say that I hope it won't make things worse for you. You know, if you're worried about how captioning might affect things.

"It ain't toilet paper, but I guess it will do."

K is for Krap!

Because I didn't sketch anything. Never fear though. The hairy warrior moves on!

Remember - caption the sketch. Be funny, and use a noun that starts with the letter K for extra point.

"Be honest. Does it look like I'm pushing down the sun?"

Saturday, April 12, 2014

J is for Journeyman

A-Z Day 'J' has come and gone, but that's what day it is for me. Because I'm not up to speed.

And my hairy warrior, now a confirmed tourist of the fantasy land of... whatever, has just left the chiuahabeast with a mighty gift.

Remember everyone. Caption the pic! Use a noun with the letter 'J' for extra credit. And make it funny.
"Oy, my rippling muscles finally won me the horn of Jarden, the legendary chichuabeast of legend."

I is for I am IMAZING

It's day L today, or K... D?

Whatever, I'm on I. So, in this A-Z post, I ask you to caption the sketch below using a noun that begins with the letter 'I' if you can.

If not, that's okay too.

Recall that yesterday the hairy warrior stumbled upon a horned beast while searching for his quest thing, I guess. Again, no one has captioned me a plot, except for Briane's tourist thing, which was a sweet idea.

But, please help us move this story along... and be funny.

"Hey big fella, any chance those horns of yours are made of ivory?"

H is for Holy Hell!

Last night's sketch is one of my favorites. Why? While I recognize some of the technical failures, what I did that I've never really done before is sketch this in the dark. IN THE DARK!

Not pitch black, mind you, but it was seriously, very dark. I had babysitting duty and the niece fell asleep watching a movie. I sketched by the flickering light of the television screen. I would hold it up, so I could see my work, then put it down to sketch, then pull it back up to look at again a few minutes later. I was really impressed with my final result.

So, yay me

Anyway, it is day... um, I forget, in the A-Z Challenge. I'm up to H now. I don't know where I'm supposed to be.

Don't forget, this is a caption contest. I need your caption. Make it funny first and foremost, and make it contain a noun with the letter 'G' for extra points.

There is a scoring system. Honest.

And finally, the sketch. After scaling the buildings yesterday, the Hairy Warrior made it to the walking bridges only to meet something... with a horn!!!

"Have I been wearing a kilt since he beginning? Yes, yes I have."

G is for Going Up?

It's A-Z day number 'H.' Which means I'm putting my 'G' post up. Of course it does, if I'm not behind, that means I'm not trying... or something.

So, what got sketched last night at dinner? Well, the hairy warrior found a way down from the precipice he was stuck on yesterday and to those strange buildings down below.

Remember, it's up to YOU to caption the image (and use a noun with the letter 'G' for bonus points), or else we won't have anywhere for this sorta story to go.
Great. If there is one thing I hate about living in a medieval fantasy, it's that there aren't elevators."

F is for Falling Down

A-Z Day number... oh geez... G maybe? I'm on F though, so whatever that means. Real quickie today from me. Remember, caption this thing, and use a noun that begins with the letter F.

Our Hairy Warrior finally made it through to Demon Woods on his quest for... well, I don't know, know one has captioned a quest for him yet.

"I'll be damned. I could have sworn there was a bridge here."

E is for Eek! I'm Behind!!

It's true, I missed Saturday's post... I'd just complained to someone that since I'm sketching these over dinner every night just before they post, If I were to miss one night I'd be in trouble....

Then Captain America hit theaters and I skipped dinner and ran out with the missus to go see it on Friday night. Then I had nothing for Saturday.

So, on the 'F' day of the A-Z Blogging Challenge, I'm putting up my 'E' post... I'll see if I can double up  at some point to try to catch up.

But, you can see that our hairy warrior below finally turned around and saw the giant demon thing from the 'D' post on Friday that he was looking for.

If you remember the game... I NEED YOU to leave a caption, some of them have been pretty good, but way too many people seemed to be having a hard time coming up with something. C'mon people! You can do it!

And remember, using a noun beginning with the letter 'E' gives you extra credit

"Hey! I'm looking for Edgar, the demon that haunts these woods... have you seen him?"

D is for Demon Woods

It's the A-Z Blogging Challenge. It's day 4 of the caption contest! There won't be a prize at the end, but there is an opportunity to get a free ezine featuring yours truly!

(That's entirely true that for the next day or two you can click the link for the FREE ezine with a feature on ME!!)

Anyway, I'm remembering that in order to make a good picture, a lot of time needs to be dedicated to shading and such.

So, I think my mechanical pencil needs to be replaced with something with a better lead.

Anyway, our hairy warrior is back, someone please give this a caption... one involving a noun that uses the letter 'D.' And the chicken soup didn't spill onto the sketchbook last night, so no food art.

"Curses, I don't see anything out of sorts in this 'Demon Woods' that everyone is so upset about."
Oh, and one more thing... since I've already talking about free things... the great Sean McLachlan's novelette, The Scavenger, is FREE for a few days. Click the link and read. His Radio Hope was magnificent, and he deserves to be very widely read.

C is for Cragons!

A-Z Blogging Challenge day three... I chose Cragons... very similar to dragons, except mostly spelled differently.

Remember, caption the sketch, preferably with a noun starting with 'C' in there somewhere.

The hairy warrior began to suspect that the dangerous Cragon that had been following him for the past fortnight intended on mating with his masthead.
In case anyone is wondering, the black speck above the Cragon's head is spaghetti sauce. Technically, this is food art. That's all I've got for now. See you tomorrow.

Oh, one more thing. Drawing water is hard. I don't want to do it anymore.

B is for Butterfly

This can't be right, it's already Day 2! Also, it's IWSG time. But the A-Z stuff first, IWSG stuff after the sketch.

So, first off... it's 'B' day for the A-Z Challenge. Remember, it's a caption contest. Today the key thing is the Butterfly. You know, because it starts with a 'B.'  I suppose I'm continuing the theme from yesterday with the bearded guy. He'll have a name eventually if I keep using him.

YOUR JOB - in case you forgot, is to caption the sketch... remember, using a noun with a 'B' in it for extra credit.

"And then I said, your mothers will weep over the bloodied corpse of your.... wait, why is everyone laughing?"
And for anyone alive and reading this who doesn't know what IWSG is, well, it's the Insecure Writer's Support Group, the brainchild of one, Alex J Cavanaugh, where the world gets the opportunity to hear all about my neurosis every month and I don't have to feel bad about it.

Although, this time, I won't get too deep in my dark insides, since the only real post I've done in some time was an IWSG post. So, to all those that are struggling, wondering if you can go on... remember, YOU CAN DO IT!

A is for Argh!!

Hello. Please, allow myself to introduce... uh... myself.

My name is Rusty, I used to blog some.

In case there are any of you that remember me from back in the early days, I've been busy letting life steamroll me into submission. But, I'm going to make it my goal to get through some of all that during April.

For now, I'm putting up my 'A' post for the A-Z Challenge. Fitting this in during the month will be one of my great challenges in life.

And what is this month supposed to even be about for me? Well, I haven't quite figured that out yet. Way back in January I was going to attempt a comic, but I quickly found my nights, er, taken from me, and all that planning time just went whoosh.

So, plan B, do a caption of the day thing.

The catch? Anyone captioning must use a noun beginning with the letter 'A.'

"Yep, it's so sharp you can shave your armpits with it. That's what I use it for."
Sigh. I'm out of practice. Let's hope I come up with something better next time.
