Monday! I'm Full of Hate!

SORRY ABOUT THAT TITLE, but man, I really, really, don't like Mondays. I generally just want to put my head down and barge on through until it's all over. But I wanted to post today to say thanks to everyone who gave War Angel a download. It managed to get up to #4 in Amazon's list of free War books over the weekend. That was as good as I could have hoped, so thanks everyone.

If you got it, and liked it, then I wouldn't get mad it you put up a review. And again, the version that went up Friday should be free of typos. If you go one on Wednesday or Thursday, then Yikes!

I FINALLY GOT TO SEE Looper over the weekend. It was one part Terminator, one part Firestarter, and the rest was great. I couldn't help but wonder though, if they screwed around with Joseph Gordon-Levitt's face because in certain scenes it looked like he was wearing a prosthetic nose and something in his mouth, I'd guess to make him look more like Bruce Willis. If they did that, then it was a mistake, because I was distracted by it. Am I the only one to notice?

Also, after watching the movie I came home and found this:

Old Looper - watch more funny videos
Now that's great stuff.

IN OTHER NEWS, I have now completed the wiring for the barn we bought last month and it has power! It has lights and electrical outlets and it all works. No fuses blew and nothing smoked and nothing caught on fire. I feel like a younger Bob Vila.

I worked until 10 p.m. on Saturday night and through Sunday afternoon. Once we called it done it was time to see Looper. It was my reward for a rough couple of weeks with this horrid project.

Anyway, happy day folks.

Is that what you were doing to the barn?
Glad you caught Looper! Didn't notice anything about Levitt's face outside of his ear. Awesome film, wasn't it?
Glad your book did so well. There were a lot of comments on my Friday post of people downloading it.

And sorry, today is a good Monday. I don't have to work because it's Columbus Day.

I don't much like Mondays either. This one will be particularly irritating because I saw what my co-workers did to my workspace while I was away. We are not amused.

I heard in one of those features before I watched another movie that they made him wear a fake nose and stuff to match Bruce Willis because Willis was the bigger name and thus his nose was more important.

Being retired, Monday is much the same as any day to me.

Wow! #4! That's pretty awesome. Best I've gotten any of Shadow Spinner to is #26. I really want to break into the top 20 though just to see if there is a spike once you get there, which is what I suspect.

I fully understand about Mondays.

Glad nothing caught on fire. That's always a downer. Yay for your story getting up to #4. Awesome.

Congrats! on the milestone! So cool to see your book reach that high. Love the Old Yeller spoof! I hate anything electrical.

Oh, and you're Author of the Week over at my blog.

That's great about War Angel!

I heard the same thing about Gordon-Levitt's face being a distraction. But I'm thinking it's because a lot of moviegoers are so familiar with his face.

Ugh. Looper. Sweetie and The Boy went to see it and couldn't give me a straight answer about what it was about or why the Mob would send people back in time to kill them or ANYTHING. I hate Looper more than any other movie I've never seen.

LOL
More than any other movie you've never seen. That's awesome! I'm going to quote you, Briane, on that, one day.

I have just finished reading War Bride. What a delightful story and I guess the version I got wasn't full of typos so it was enjoyable. Thanks so much Rusty.

I'll be reviewing your story soon. I just am playing catch up. I have gout and got a pain attack this weekend, but it's finally settling down. I love that you are so handy. When I buy my house soon, I'm hoping to be able to do things like that by reading, studying YouTube videos, and consulting with people. I'm not buying a barn or anything, but I will be invested in home renovations.

I'm not sure I understand what was so funny about that "Old Looper" video. "Old Yeller" was a good movie as a kid and I'm not really sure I see the connection.

I guess the time mechanics in Looper didn't frustrate you like they did to me. I didn't mind the prosthetics and JGL's face, but I did miss how he looks. JGL is very handsome, and I kinda think they made him look ugly in the show.

Meh...the more I think about it, the more I realize I don't ever want to watch Looper again. LOL
