The Great Internet Blackout

Yesterday was the 'blackout' of the internet that many participated in to protest the draconian SOPA/PIPA bills that, if enacted, would make the internet a whole lot ickier than it should be. Click ---> Here <--- to learn more.

Also, I was just lazy this week and didn't feel like doing anything. So it really worked out for me, I can be lazy and get points for being an activist.

For me, when people post videos on their site I rarely watch. As I am often reading posts on the go and can't really stop to watch a 5 or 6 minute video that I'm not sure I'll enjoy. But I'm asking everyone who enjoys that awkward humor that Ricky Gervais is famous for, please, please watch.

In the sketch, Liam Neeson has decided he wants to do comedy. Once they get started in on their improv session I laughed as hard as I have in a long time. Great stuff.

Ah hell, while I'm at it, I might as well post the other funniest thing I've seen - also staring Ricky Gervais. Here he is listening to a movie idea from Patrick Stewart. This clip was from his hilarious TV show called Extras.

Please watch. This is the funniest stuff ever.

Happy days folks.

I don't know that sounds like a lot of effort.

Classic.

Something about Stewart saying the word knickers is just funny. And is that Warwick Davis in the first clip?

Hah! Oh my. Hilarious.

I LOVE when being lazy can double as something honorable, like activism. We don't get hardly enough opportunities like that.

And seriously, after talking about how hard it is to watch videos on the go (or in offices where it's almost as if PIPA & co have already been enacted)you add not one, but two?!

Nothing like a laugh first thing in the morning :D

Okay, the Liam Neeson thing was pretty hilarious. I skipped the Patrick Stewart one, though, because I've already watched the entire run of The Extras. That was a brilliant show.

I'm with you: I HATE watching people's videos online. Mostly because 90% of my computer time is at work, and I don't really have 10 minutes to just sit and stare at the screen.

But that video was excellent.

If you like awkward humor, try watching Zach Galifnakishoweveryouspell it's "Between Two Ferns."

I can never decide if Ricky Gervais is funny. Some times, he's hilarious and then other times...not so much. But I did love the show Extras.

Ha!

Love it when Gervais says, "Uh-huh, thought you might have."

And Stewart is really funny!

I'd heard about the blackout but I've been online and everything seems just the same.

I swear, I can't figure out what's going on with my comments. Now it won't let me reply to individuals.

Grumpy - I understand. Really.

Deborah - absolutely

Alex - It is! Looks good. I haven't seen the show that first clip was taken from.

Matthew - Good stuff, isn't it.

Tracy - Thank you, I'm all about boycotting things. There was this one time I boycotted veggies for an entire year. I'm glad you appreciate the many layers of my boycott.

Cindy - I've actually watched those clips many times. The morning is as good a time as any.

Andrew - I loved Extras too. I was thinking of it when I saw the Neeson clip.

Briane - I'll look up whatshisname

MJ - All comedians are hit and miss with me. He's looking awfully fit now though. He'll give Carrot Top a run for his money soon if he doesn't chill out on all the work at the gym.

Jay - I love those little mumbled asides he throws in. Good stuff.

Karen - Well, Google and Wikipedia were the biggest folks involved. Google just blocked out their logo, Wikipedia was rerouting most of their site to a page about the bill. But like everything else. In some areas it wasn't such big news.

I love Ricky Gervais, and yet I hate him for making me cringe so much. He makes my cringe muscles hurt!!

Great to see guys like this doing sketch comedy. Stewart is great at whatever he dies and Gervais playing the straight man is classic.

That was great! Thanks for sharing.
