N is for Nose

Day...14? Past halfway now, right? I ran out of gas late last week and am struggling to plow through, waiting for a second wind. Anyhow, read about the struggles and triumphs of others in the challenge... HERE

Today is N... I chose nose, mostly because I was looking at my list of the the things I'd decided to draw and I saw what I had and was thinking, WTF?

I mean, it was a word that stood for a 4 winged insect, but still, I am doing this at the last minute and that seemed like more creativity than I have at the moment. So we all get to look at a guy with a big nose... enjoy.

Nose AND chin!

He looks kind of like Joe Camel. I spent a couple hours yesterday just following blogs on that list. I wonder how long it would take to follow them all?

I love your illustrations. So cool. I am finding this A-Z a bit challenging too! I didn't do that clever thing of writing them all beforehand! Argh!

I'm a little surprised I'm still posting. I thought I'd be out about I day last week.

So "Nose" is not in the tale of deceit? I went back and looked at the sketches for L and M to catch up.

I like Nose. He looks like he would be a good character in a sort of sci-fi/fantasy Dickens novel, like if Pip went through a hole in the space-time continuum.

This guy has what qualifies as a "piehole"...*grin*. His mouth is tiny, but I have a small mouth (physically) so I should not ridicule others. I am still impressed with your artistic ability.

a-z is killing me.
it doesn't help that i'm trying to start-up my business this month...
or that i have a day job...
or that i have three little kids (four if you count the hubby- which he does sometimes... refers to himself as one of the kids, that is)
and two dogs
and two cats
and panic attacks...
i'm thinking about quitting...
really.

Man, them's some cavernous nostrils!

He looks a bit down in the mouth! Maybe he feels like the rest of us A-Zers - wondering why the flip we started!

Haha, I want to meet someone who ACTUALLY looks like that!

Okay, I want that on a t-shirt. That's awesome.

Looks a little bit like Willy Wonka.

This A-Z challenge is killing me too. I know I shouldn't have taken it on with all that's going on. But I'm going to do what you're doing - just plow through and finish what I started.

You drew that? Nice! I'm over from A to Z and I'm talking about a really cool portrait painter. Might be up your artist alley??

That is definitely a nise. He doesn't look very happy about it, though.

I love big noses...well all noses in fact. When I draw a face, it is the first feature I put into place. I've toyed with all kinds of noses. I was really pleased when I came up with Jordan's nose in my latest "attempt" at drawing him from my mind. After the nose is in place, the rest of the face falls neatly where it is supposed to be.

I can't believe, on a post about noses, I spelled nose incorrectly. I guess that proves I'm not a robot!

That is quite a nose. I'm glad you decided to draw a guy with a big nose. I quite enjoy him.

But... all insects have four wings...

I saw this guy the other day with a hooked nose. It really did look just like a beak. And he was bald, so I couldn't stop thinking he was some kind of hawk or eagle.

Andrew - Flies and mosquitos come to mind as insects with only one pair... and I have been thinking of changing my commenting options again so I can do the individual responses... Let me know if you still have issues commenting when I make that change.

Great pic - very full of character :) His nose leaves others in the dust!

Andrew Leon said...

Okay, yeah, that's true. But I hate mosquitoes, so it's not surprising that I couldn't think of them.

I will let you know; although, I hate that individual response thing. I tried it, and all it's really good for is spamming your mail box as it will notify you -every- time you make a response. I also quite subscribing to comments on people's blog that respond to comments that way, especially if they get a lot of comments, for the same reason. Personally, I don't want 50 notifications when someone is making responses.

But that's just me.

Everything has been working fine with blogger for a while, now, but, then, I haven't done their update, yet, so who knows what will change when I do.
