S is for Scarlet Knight

It's day S in the A-Z Blogging Challenge.

And today I'm cheating a bit, well, not really cheating, but call it a vacation day from drawing, it was making my wrist sore. So I decided to throw up... eew, gross... throw out something I didn't sketch just for this challenge. It was the digital painting I did for PT Dilloway's upcoming novel with a mystery release date. His A-Z Challenge is all about the backstory to his novel... check it out ... HERE.

So, without further ado: The Scarlet Knight

Hard to believe that is a suit of armor she's wearing... but it is.
If I'd planned better I think I could have made it a much more dynamic image. As it is it's very static, but, you get what you pay for I suppose. In this image I was experimenting with rendering a CG person as my model. She looks okay I suppose.

Still an excellent image. Background is really good. Since it was for free, he got way more than paid for.

She does look like a superhero. Cool cover, Rusty.

I think it's really beautiful. I like how solitary she looks, and the dark city behind her.

I love all that sandbagging you're doing. Compared to what the publisher came up with it's a masterpiece.

Hey, I think it's pretty great. Love the cityscape in front of her. Very superheoric painting.

I love this and I love that the Scarlet Knight is a woman and not some dude in red armor. Yay PT!!

It's a great picture - love the city in the background. I think she needs to lose the cape - very dangerous.

Wow. I love the background--and the way the light's reflected off her cape.

@Tonya: The cape isn't a fashion accessory. It allows her to turn invisible and works as a parachute.

I do love the background!

Very cool I can see how a more dynamic image would help the viewer understand what she does, any powers she may possess, or is she a vigilante maybe.

I think she looks amazing! and I love the overall darkness of the picture :)

You do quite the job of setting the mood in that image - very dark, brooding and mysterious.

I think she's fantastic. I'll have to hire you to draw my superhero.

I think she is one of my favorites. I want to dress up like her for Halloween. :)
