T is for Tired

Well, it's T day in the A-Z Blogging challenge... click and visit others here.

T is for tired, maybe not sleepy, but tired of all these damned sketches. I'm in the home stretch here and I'm so running out of gas.

I'm tired because I've received not one, but two rejections for various piece of my writerly pursuits so far this month. It doesn't bode well for the months to come.

I had intended to do yet another character from my novel and I started out ambitiously and it wasn't working at all. So I dropped that idea quick before I felt like I put too much work into it to quit. So, instead I whipped up this in about 10 minutes and counted this day as done.

Perfect picture for a 'Tired' post! You've definitely got talent! Sorry about the rejections, but you will soldier on 'cause that's what real writers do.

I'm looking forward to the A-Z being over, so I can actually post about other stuff, if and when I want ;)

Yeah, he looks tired as well.
Two rejections is not the end of your career, so suck it up and keep writing and submitting! Don't make me go all Ninja and beat a good attitude into you.

I understand the tired. That guy is really tired looking and I can't believe you can do that in 10 minutes. That's incredible.

I bet a lot of people doing the A to Z are tired. Hang in there and try not worry about the rejections.

I feel how that guy looks. I'm done.

Theoretically this whole challenge is about building a support network. So cheer up!

aw man.
i'm sorry to hear about your rejections. each one hurts, i've heard. but, MAN, you're fighting for it. you are TRYING and there is honor in fighting the worthy battle whether you are victorious or not.

this sketch is fan-freakin'-tastic. and i'm so jealous of how quickly you executed it!

He does look pretty tired. Rejections suck, but all you can do is keep swinging. Or quit.

I'm glad this is the last week of the A to Z thing. I'm getting really tired of it.

That sketch drew a yawn for me. Rejection is not fun, but I'm sure you're too stubborn to quit now.

I hit a brick wall with this A-Z stuff last week. I'm ready for it to be over.

Perfect title for today with a perfect sketch to illustrate it. This challenge is exhausting and so is getting rejections. I guess, just keep telling yourself you're in good company. It never really makes me feel better (at least not right away) but maybe it'll work for you...

Well I love the sketch. I probably look much the same right now. I too received a couple writing rejections, so I'm feeling your pain. Sorry you too are struggling at the moment.

Oh how I wish I could draw like you! Ten minutes? Each illustration for my Toy poems took me an hour.

I hear ya on tired.

Be proud of the rejection. You're in the game where thousands wish to be. It's part of the business, unfortunately. The only way to get a yes is to keep at it.

I read about other authors a lot saying how long it can take and not to give up. So, don't.

I'm more curious as to what the shadow looming over him is. It's kind of creepy.

As for the rejections, as I keep saying, go around. Go around.

Fab. What did you do it on? I've just started drawing digitally with my mouse and am quite enjoying it - but have no idea how to use a drawing pad-type thingy, even tough I have one. Just can't get my head round it... but am getting beter with a mouse over this month!

Liz, if your producing even okay art using only your mouse then you are a better person than I by far. Wow.

I'd be tired, too, forcing out sketches every day!

Rejection is just the beginning. I hear Stephen King got over 200 rejections before someone would take a look at his stuff, and... well, he's Stephen King! So cheer up--rejections are just steps toward finding the right match for you. :)

Rejections suck. Never surrender, never give up!

Ciara said...

Ten minutes? Really? Wow! I wish I could draw that in hours. Take your twenty minutes to morn the two rejects then get over it and submit some more. That's what I do. :)

Don't worry about the rejections, they come and come, but you'll soon get those stories published.

I love shadow looking over him. Like he feel asleep and a giant monster is sneaking up on him.

Love this one! The shadow looks ominous, like something is about to get him.
