My World... Disrupted

I scheduled a post for tomorrow, not really intending to have anything up today. But I thought I would say a few words about my phone... who died this week. It was two years old.

I wasn't the best owner. I know that. I dropped you many times, I refused to let you wear protective gear that could have saved you from injury. You never complained. You never quit. I dropped you onto asphalt, concrete, hardwood, grass... I once dropped you from an upstairs floor onto the the yard below.
But  you carried on.
Sure, you were slowing down. I could see it in the way that I had to tap the screen more than once to get you to respond. Your power button quit working. Then your front camera failed.
Months later, I dropped you again. Only about two feet onto a bamboo floor. And you shattered. large cracks spiderwebbed their way across the back... and snaked around the front.
But  you worked. Damn you, you worked.
Until, without warning, with my firm belief that you would go on forever, you gave up your ghost.
I'll miss you.

There. I feel better. Can't wait to get my new phone... the next day or two is going to be really rough without one.

You are rough on your electronics! I've not dropped my iPad once in three years. And I think my iTouch only fell once in over six years.
Are you getting protective gear for the new one?

Rubberized protective gear sounds like a must for the new one. I mean...you don't want to go through this again, do you?

So sad. It was so young! But as long as you remember the phone, it will always be alive.

Its sad to say, but I can no longer live without my phone. Good luck until you get a new one.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I went through something very similar with the phone I had before my current phone. And I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

I only got my first smart phone about a year ago, but now I can't imagine going back!

My kindle has a crack in but I can't recall ever dropping it. Maybe it's a reaction to the kind of books I keep on there.

My mother's phone is Teflon, that cell drops just about every month (and falls a part and has to be reassembled) and it's still going strong after years of use. Sorry about your phone but this was a sweet post in it's memory.

This is why I don't want one of those things. It was bad enough when I lost Internet this morning (long story), because I can't work without it, and, if I can't work, then I CAN'T WORK!
