Where I Admit I Have No Ideas... But SPIDER-MAN!!

MANY OF YOU ARE super awesome about the internets, but kids these days, they're all about new things. Like Vine, which has been around for awhile, I just don't use it that much. It's 6 seconds of video and so you have to be very creative to do something there worth watching. Honestly, this stuff cracks me up to no end.

Well, here's a funny example below of how clever folks use the service.

So, I've always wondered what it would be like to be Spider-Man.... now I know. It would be awful (P.S. Make sure you unmute it to get all the drama).

IN OTHER NEWS, I mentioned on the other blog a few weeks ago about wanting to read some SF from Octavia E Butler, I picked up a book the other day of hers (had the worst cover ever, that has to be bad on purpose, because, no one would ever put that out and think it was good) and started reading, I quickly got engrossed and was plowing through it when my WIFE picked it up while I was running into Home Depot for some grout and other assorted project things.
That's ugly, right?

I had it in the car and when I came out she was reading. Curses. Not only did she start reading it, she stole it from me. I'm halfway through a book that I can't read because my wife won't let me have it. I think she'll finish the whole thing today, so I shouldn't have to go that long without it, but damn.

In the meantime, it gave me an opportunity to write this post, so at least there's that. Of course, I tend to only have these sorts of things up when I can't think of anything else to say.

Happy Monday.

Uncle Ben - funny!
Sorry she stole your book. Sounds like she's enjoying it if she's zipping through it so fast.

That is a lame cover. What's it supposed to be? Is it a book club edition?

Technically I stole a book out from under my parents last year, but I don't think they ever noticed.

OK, I watched that four times before I got the joke. I kept thinking "What, he doesn't like rice?" and trying to remember Spider-Man comics before I thought "Oh, YEAH, Uncle Ben."

Maybe my humor is just more sophisticated, you guys! *sees man get football to groin, laughs uproariously*

As for the book-stealing, that is COLD. I was talking to someone this weekend about how long a wife can "save" TV shows you are watching "together." We started watching "Arrested Development"'s fourth season last year and never got through the last 2 episodes, and I've been bugging Sweetie to watch them but she won't, so I think they are freed up, but she disagrees.

Anyway, she didn't TAKE THEM AWAY from me and watch them herself. Your wife played this round like a boss, as the kids say.

*takes football to groin*

I deserved that.

The cover looks old and ragged, like you got it at a book fair for a quarter because a dog chewed on it.

But the best part of that cover is the header: "A Novel Of Science Fiction." I think MORE explanation is needed. What's a "novel?" And science FICTION, you say? I need at least 50% more passive-voice subtitles.

That's a good thing about ebooks; you can just download another copy to another device.

Love that Spider-man vid! My mom will do that to me sometimes, take the book I've been reading. It's a good thing we don't have a lot of genres in common. ;)

You married her, no one to blame but yourself. Let us know if it was a good read (if you ever get the chance to finish it).

The Vine video was awesome. The sad piano DOES add to the drama.

And that is a terrible cover, but I've heard her work is fantastic. My wife steals my books all the time. I had to by another ebook reader because of that.

I hate it when my wife steals one of my books. I mean, come on, a woman reading? In this day and age? What is this, America?

Oh, man, that is awesome!

And that, also, is awesome!

Not in exactly a good way, but still...
Just hope she doesn't get sidetracked 20 pages from the end and doesn't let you have it till she's finished.

LOL, poor Spiderman...

And your wife stole your book? That'd drive me crazy! You started reading it first, so you should have dibs, I think...

Ha! Well, I shouldn't laugh at Spiderman's grief.

Hehehe!

For some reason, I couldn't hear any sound on the video..but I get the idea.
