I'm sure everyone is already tired of seeing people that they've never heard of being sketched out for my daily stuff... well, sorry, today is another character from my fantasy novel in progress. A girl named Edith.
She's king of the pinwheel that all the characters revolve around, well, in a Ptolemaic sort of fashion. She's a nice girl in my story, but, well, lemons and and lemonade and all that.
Her fist hurts from punching monsters in the face. |

Definitely not getting tired of the sketches. Love the caption.
Sketches are an interesting approach. I suppose the difficulty can be sometimes if you feel the need to sketch them because you aren't capturing their essence in words.
So she's also a tough girl?
Oh yes, she looks angry enough to have punched out a monster (she looks like she's simmering actually). I like the cartoons - keep doing them!
Absolutely gorgeous. Have you got any other illustrations online anywhere? I'd love to have a look.
Love your sketches!! Interesting character.
I am stopping by via the A - Z Challenge link up, following you via GFC, and twitter. Feel free to stop by my blog at http://www.scatteredmusings.net/2012/04/buying-car/ (my b- c and d post combined)
She's a looker as well as a fighter!
Yeah. I'm sick of your sketches.
NOT!!!!!!!!!
Edith kicks some monster ass huh? She looks beautiful, but knowing she's a warrior makes her even more appealing.
AAAHHH!!!
i LOVE it!
that her fist hurts from punching monsters in the face and she's super nice!
sounds like my kind of character!
YAY!
this wip is shaping up to be super appealing!
You know, you've got some talent! Especially if you're doing these each night before the next post! Crazy good!
I just have to ask. Have you ever hung out on the Writer's Digest Forum? (not the community). I think I might have recognized your avatar pictures (the style of your drawing). Could be wrong though! :)
I'm sure no one's getting tired of seeing your sketches. They're lovely. I only wish I had the ability to sketch my characters.
Love the sketches! And punching a monster in the face? Awesome.
A beautiful sketch! Love your wallpaper, too.
I'm only just getting around to your blog now, because for moral reasons I can't read any posts that have to do with the letters A-D. Blame it on the Puritans. Everyone else does.
The caption made me laugh out loud. BUT: Is this "Fantasy novel" you're working on a continuation to Dead God? When is there more Dead God?
While I like what I've read of your blog so far, it was the caption you put on your sketch that clinched me following.
Her face looks sad...almost as if she is thinking about someone or reflecting on something that she has just done.
A dirty job b ut someone's got to do it...
Well done Rusty. I like Edith already. Pleasant in the eyes and likes to punch monsters!
She's nice and she's strong enough to go around punching monsters? I love the sound of this character.
I agree with Michael...she looks vaguely sad to me. Makes me wonder why.
I like the sketch. I like the caption too. "Her fist hurts from punching monsters in the face"
Makes me want to know who she is more!
I am trying to read all the A to Z blogs, but coming back to the ones I really like.
Looking forward to seeing what you do all month!

Um, wait a minute, does this mean that I am or am going to be a character in some story you're writing? Is that how you know I'm going to be a wizard?
And I need to talk to you about the tunnel. Been meaning to email, but I'm swamped with all of this a to z.
So much research!
Beautiful drawing! I wish I had this kind of talent. Thanks for sharing Edith with us.
I punched the refrigerator last week [by accident]. It really does hurt. I thought maybe she had cts at first. Edith is a great character.
She looks like a badass. I can't wait to read more about her.
The way you show emotion through art amazes me!!!
Nice sketch of Edith.
