I read Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn books in March and loved then. Kelsier is a very memorable character that really drove the books. Even when he wasn't in the thick of things, he still influenced all the other characters around him.
This scene comes from a point early in the first book when he is battling Hazekillers, folks trained to do battle with Mistborn warriors, which is what he was.
If I really wanted to do something amazing, I'd love to try my hand at depicting his fight with a steel inquisitor from late in the book, but that isn't suitable for a sketch.

Great illustration- I like all the shadows.
You got some great depth on this one.
That thing leaping in from above is very good.
Oh, that's a guy jumping. At first I thought it was some kind of flying bush.
Great action scene. Seriously, you should write and illustrate comic books.
Love that you're taking inspiration for Sanderson. Mistborn is awesome (I have a signed copy).
Wow, what a unique scene that would make, go for it:)
I love the Mistborn series. I like your interpretation of the fight.
Lots of action. I love it.
Very cool...and if you want a good laugh regarding those books. Read that fight scene with the steal inquisitor in the end, in your best "romance" voice.
I promise you'll laugh till your crying.
Fantastic sketch, Rusty. I'm an artist myself, but drawing people has always been my kryptonite. (Not literally. It's not like I drop to the floor, drained of all energy. I just suck at them.)
Well done, sir. Well done.
Neat. It seems quite 3-d with the perspectives and shadows.
I love that it's an action scene! And the sketch's depth, with the shadows in the background.
As soon as I saw the post title, I knew I had to click over - I love Kelsier! He's such a fantastic character.
I see that you're trying to get me to read these. I disapprove!
Did you draw that???
Damn. It looks three-dimensional.
And action sketches are probably a huge challenge.
DudE!!!! DDDUUUUDDDEEE!!!
