Meme Spreader!

Rogue Mutt tagged me in a meme thing the other day. I debated on whether or not to respond. I decided in the end that I probably should. This blogging thing is all about being social, after all. So, let's just dive right in here.

  1. If you could go back in time and relive one moment, what would it be? There is no way in hell I'm sharing that one. No way.
  2. If you could go back in time and change one thing, what would it be? Uh, did you ever see a time travel movie, ever? I mean, any time travel movie? Going back in time and changing things leads to disaster. Let's see, Back to the Future, The Butterfly Effect, The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror # 7 (or 8, whatever, the one where Homer's toaster turned into a time machine), crap, what was the Ray Bradbury one, the movie I mean, not the book? I think The Butterfly Effect has already been taken. Anyway, that one. There was Primer, the small indie movie about that guy that invented the time machine... all of them shared one thing. If you screw around with the past, it will be a disaster. That said, I'd definitely go back and muck around. Picking lottery numbers seems like a popular choice, but I'd just like to go back and talk to myself at around the age of 14 or 15. That's it.
  3. What movie/TV character do you most resemble in personality? Geez. Stupid as it is, I think it's Paul Rudd as he was in, I Love You, Man
  4. If you could push one person off a cliff and get away with it, who would you choose? That really isn't my personality to do that sort of thing, you know, murder people. But, I really didn't like my 3rd grade math teacher. Did she really have to be that mean? It was every day with her. She stole my damn eraser because she said it was a toy. WTF? It was an eraser! I used it to erase things, nothing else. Damn that woman. So petty.
  5. Name one habit you want to change in yourself. I wish I could quit obsessing over my third grade math teacher. Damn her, that woman was mean.
  6. Why do you blog? Narcissism.
  7. Name at least three people to send this to: Rogue Mutt, Rogue Mutt, and Rogue Mutt. I just want to see if he'll do it again.

That's me on the left

Wasn't it "A Sound Like Thunder" that was the Bradbury short story they used for that Simpsons episode? I read it once. Then there was a horrible Ed Burns movie of it where people turn into fish or something like that.

Great post, Rusty. The Butterfly Effect was great. You're right though. All the movies you named did a wonderful job of showing how dangerous changing the past can be. Guess it's a good thing we don't have the power to do something like that. If we did, I'd probably never past seventh grade.(:

How about if you go back in time and push your math teacher off a cliff? Think that would disrupt the timeline?

This was GREAT. You had me laughing out loud. And I love that you saw "Primer," too. That was a phenomenal movie.

What was great about that Simpsons episode was when Homer lost it and went back in time and just began smashing stuff up. I could relate to that.

But I really think you should share the moment you'd relive because now we're all making stuff up in our minds about what it might be. I, for one, will spend the rest of the day thinking "What was it Rusty would relive? That time he saved the Pope's life? A particularly tasty Life Saver Candy? WHAT WAS IT!?!??!?!??!?!?!?"

But, then, I have very little to do at work.

Memes are fun...much more so than awards. Why go back in time when you can go forward unless it's to buy stock in oil. And how wicked of your match teacher to think your eraser was a toy. Narcissism will get you far in life. :) I'm pretty sure that's a cunfusious quote.

"A Sound of Thunder" is a great story and may be what invented the whole time travel genre. It's also a great title. Now, I need to know which came first: that short story or chaos theory.

I really enjoy reading people's answers to these memes as they spread around the blogosphere. Narcissism . . . well, I suppose there's an element of that for a lot of bloggers.

The Simpson's Treehouse was great. Why don't questions ever ask about going forward in time?

I thought you were going to say you were in love with your 3rd grade teacher. So, that was a twist. My 1st grade teacher was really strict.

Primer was cool. I liked it. Time Crimes was another interesting time travel movie, imo, and as long as you don't mind subtitles (it's in spanish). Loved the idea of going back to talk to your 14/15 year old self.
