T is for... Troubled Times

After my four post day yesterday, it grieves me to think that I'm still a full day behind in this year's A to Z Challenge. But I am, I'll just have to make up the difference before month's end.

But, in case my theme is a mystery to you, dear reader, my hope is to go from concept to completion of a cover for Andrew Leon's upcoming novel, Shadow Spinner. I spent most of the month scratching my head as I struggled with the concept. But here is where we stand now:

Only a very minor change from yesterday's last post... anyone see it right away? I added a shadow to the tunnel.

The shadow of a man. Creepy.
One more post and you're right back in the game.
At least for me, U was very easy...

Neat shadow. The only problem is it'll be too small to see on a website.

You can always do your catchup entry on Sunday when no one else is posting.

I think it needs to be stretching out toward the reader.

I blew it up and caught it right away. Creepy as hell!

I saw the shadow...as soon as you said it was a shadow. I am not having my best days lately.

Anyway, I agree with Andrew that it should be stretching out toward the reader.

Looking good dude!

I swear, you're literally trying to become Lemony Snicket.

I don't understand Tony's comment at all. I was all set to comment and actually be "on point" and "make sense" and "seem coherent" and "not make this all about me" and everything else the team of professionals that follows me around hoping to limit the damage I do to society advises me to do, and then I read Tony's comment and all I could think of was "Lemony Snicket? How does HE fit in here?" and now I'm thinking I missed something in the picture...

...which is very good, by the way, I really like it...

... and IT IS DRIVING ME NUTS. ARRGHGHGHGH why do I ever try to fit into society?

Anyway: Nice picture. Off to take my meds!

Second Tony, you're doing great.

The addition is quite sinister. And I like the grass by the way. Wish I could get my yard to look like that.

Very sinister and yes, I did see it right away, the thing is, Tib didn't see any such shadow did he. At first one believes its all in his imagination.

@Jo: This piece is from the second time Tib is at the tunnel, so there is a shadow.

Just to explain my comment...Lemony Snicket (a.k.a. Daniel Handler) wrote from an amusingly negative perspective A Series of Unfortunate Events. They're juvenile fiction, but so distinctively written that anyone can enjoy them. So my comment is as much about Rusty's progress as how he's been writing about it, and the fact that you can easily read these posts just to enjoy his apparent frustration. At this point, if that's not his intention, it might as well be.

All due apologies to Rusty if he's actually frustrated.
